The Alleghenies is a region of south central Pennsylvania that includes nine counties.  The Alleghenies are named for the Allegheny Mountain range that make up the "ridge and valley" section of Pennsylvania.

Outdoor activities and history abound in The Alleghenies.  The Alleghenies is made up of regions including Johnstown, Altoona, Bedford/Breezewood, State College, Lewistown, McConnellsburg, and Raystown Lake.  Raystown.org is the official website of the Raystown Lake Region of The Alleghenies and the Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau.  Some of the Visitors Bureau membership are located in other areas of The Alleghenies.
