Hunting

Hunting-don County encompasses one of Pennsylvania’s premier hunting areas. We are best known for turkey, whitetail deer, and black bear, although just about every species of legal game in Pennsylvania can be found in Huntingdon County!

In the Huntingdon Area, hunting is permitted on public lands in Rothrock State Forest and State Gamelands #112 & #118.

The Huntingdon Area is entirely split between two Wildlife Management Units (WMU).  The area north of Route 22 is located in WMU 4D, and the area south of Route 22 is in WMU 4A.  Seasons and regulations may vary between WMUs, check regulations at the Pennsylvania Game Commission's website: www.pgc.state.pa.us before embarking on your hunt.

Happy hunting!
