Raystown Lake is 8,300 acres of clean fresh water that plays host to dozens, if not hundreds of water-based activities. Its 32 miles of navigable channel can accommodate boats of unlimited horsepower for boat racing, water skiing, wakeboarding, jet skiing, and just general boating fun.

If speed isn’t your thing, the fishing on Raystown Lake is incredible! Raystown is the home of Pennsylvania State record gamefish of multiple species. Gamefish in Raystown’s depths include striped bass (stripers for short), tiger muskie, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass, northern pike, crappie, sunfish, lake trout, channel catfish, walleye, and more.

Spruce Creek, Standing Stone Creek, Little Juniata Creek, and Great Trough Creek are world-renown for trout fishing. International celebrities, world leaders, and professional fishermen, frequent these streams for the unmatched experience of fly-fishing.

The Juniata River is another fantastic fishery featuring trout, smallmouth bass, walleye and more for the angler.

Prefer to generate your own power? There are great opportunities for paddling, rowing and sailing on Raystown Lake to explore quiet coves, islands, and other areas via canoe, kayak, rowboat, skull, or sailboard.

If you prefer paddling on moving water, try the Water Trails of the Juniata River for a great way to check out the natural surroundings and heritage of this great waterway.

Houseboats and ski-pontoon boats are available for rent at the Lake Raystown Resort Marina in Entriken and at Seven Points Marina in Hesston.

Maybe you just want to cool off on a hot summer day. The Raystown Lake Region is home to water parks at Del Grosso’s Amusement Park, Lakemont Park, and Wild River Water Park at Lake Raystown Resort. Many of the lodging properties in the region offer private pools, and there are public beaches at Seven Points and Tatman Run Recreation Areas at Raystown Lake, as well as Whipple Dam and Greenwood Furnace State Parks.
