Indian Caverns

Located on route 45 in Franklinville, Pennsylvania, Indian Caverns was discovered more than 100 years ago. Originally discovered in the 19th Century, the Indian Caverns was an archaeological site for the discovery of over 500 artifacts. The pieces of history belonged to the Mohawk and Lenape tribes. Since 1929 the Indian Caverns have been run and operated by the Wertz family.

The Cavern is naturally air-conditioned, the temperature is a constant 56F / 13C. A light wrap is recommended.
Boy Scouts of America Merit Badge Program in Indian Lore - Discussion, demonstrations, research materials, and activities which will enable Scouts to complete all four requirements for the Indian Lore merit badge, based on the tribes that used the cave, their histories, and the artifacts they left behind.
