HESSTON, PA - The Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau will hold free wake-up receptions at the Raystown Lake Visitor Center every Tuesday June 18-Aug. 13 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. to promote the Raystown Lake Region and the businesses and attractions within it.
The first wake-up reception is set to kick off this Tuesday and is open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided while supplies last.
Each wake-up reception has a designated theme, helping visitors and locals expand their knowledge of all there is to see and do here and to maximize their time in the region. This summer's themes are:
June 18 - Pollinator Week featuring the Huntingdon Masters Garden Club and Penn State Extension
June 25 - Agriculture Week featuring Diana Dickson of Four Diamonds Ranch, Huntingdon County Fair Queen Alyssa Horton, and the Huntingdon County Dairy Promotion Team
July 2 - History Week featuring Lonnie Smith, Huntingdon County Historian
July 9 - Cave Week featuring Ann Dunlavy of Lincoln Caverns & Whisper Rocks
July 16 - Eagle Week with Juniata College
July 23 - Artist Week featuring the Huntingdon County Arts Council and local artists in Huntingdon County
July 30 - World Ranger and Water Safety Week, featuring the U.S Army Corps of Engineers and the rangers at Raystown Lake
Aug. 6 - Outdoor Recreation Week featuring disc golf expert Rick Romo of Let’s Go Throw and Rothrock Outfitters
Aug. 13 - Health Literacy Week featuring Broad Top Medical Center and Penn Highlands Health Center
