This year, Independence Day lands on a Friday, perfect timing for an extended weekend getaway to the beautiful Raystown Lake Region. Starting Thursday, July 3, the area comes alive with festive events, fun activities and plenty of opportunities to celebrate the holiday with family and friends. Whether you’re into fireworks, live music, outdoor adventures or simply soaking in the local atmosphere, there’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout this special weekend.

July 3

Independence Day Fireworks in Huntingdon

Huntingdon’s annual fireworks display will dazzle in the night sky over the borough. Find the perfect spot to sit and enjoy the show. Not sure where to go or what to do before they begin? Don’t worry, there’s plenty happening in Huntingdon to keep you entertained.

 

Fireworks Swim at Isett Community Pool

Isett Community Pool will be hosting its Fireworks Swim! With a DJ on site, you can swim the night away starting at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are just $5 per person, regardless of age. The pool offers a clear view of the fireworks launching from Flagpole Hill, making it a great place to be.

 

40th Annual Car, Truck and Bike Cruise in Downtown Huntingdon 
Here's the plan. You arrive in downtown Huntingdon around 5 p.m. to enjoy dinner at one of the incredible local restaurants. After your meal, take a walk down Washington Street, where all the cars, trucks and bikes will be parked by 6:30 p.m. Then head to Bryan Park for live music where Nick Miller performs from 6-8 p.m., followed by Harley Rae from 8-9 p.m. The event is free and family-friendly. What more could you ask for? Oh wait… don’t forget that open containers are permitted within the designated Car Cruise area!

 

Sweet Summer Celebration at the Meadows Original Frozen Custard
Sweet Summer Celebration is here! From 2–10 p.m., the Meadows of Huntingdon will have everything from live music and vendors to sweet treat deals you won’t want to miss. Whether you’re stopping by during the day to grab a treat to beat the heat or swinging by to take your favorites to go for your fireworks-watching spot, there’s no denying it’ll be the perfect day for custard.

July 4

4th of July Celebration at the East Broad Top Railroad
Independence Day memories will be unforgettable at the East Broad Top Railroad! Ride the rails, enjoy fun activities and grab a bite from the Three Springs Volunteer Fire Company and Rockhill/Orbisonia Fire Company and EMS. Make sure to stay for the fireworks display that will light up the sky.

 

4th of July Concert at the Raystown Lake Amphitheatre hosted by Shy Beaver Boat Center
Celebrate Shy Beaver Boat Center’s 40th Anniversary with a special performance by Ricky Lee at 7 p.m.! Bring a lawn chair and settle in for a laid-back evening filled with great country music.

 

4th of July 2-Person Golf Tournament at Huntingdon Country Club
Is the green where you want to be? Grab a partner and kick off your day with a round of golf and a little friendly competition. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the outdoors and show off your skills. Don’t forget to call and register by Tuesday, July 1 to secure your spot!

 

Star Spangled Fourth at Fort Roberdeau 
Spend the day celebrating local history. Discover what frontier life was like during the fort’s day, experience “Flee to the Fort” and so much more. A wonderful educational opportunity for youth on the 4th of July. Bring the whole family for an engaging blend of learning and fun.

 

Summer Thunder at Delgrosso’s Park & Laguna Splash
Experience the thrill of rides and roller coasters at the amusement park, then cool off with a splash in the water attractions. Spend the day making memories with family and friends. Interested in spending the day at Raystown Lake? Here are a few tips and tricks to help you make the most of it. There are two public beaches available, Seven Points Beach and Tatman Run Beach. Grab some towels and a cooler and enjoy the water! Want to be out on the lake? If you don’t have a boat, consider tickets for the 2:15 p.m. Sightseeing Cruise aboard the Proud Mary Showboat at Lake Raystown Resort. If you do have a boat, there are seven public boat launches available for free use, but keep in mind parking is first-come, first-served. Remember, the water can get busy, so always take safety precautions: wear life jackets and follow waterway rules, including no-wake zones. Need a map with mile markers to guide your adventure? Independence Day Fireworks on Raystown Lake

The Lake Raystown Resort will light up the sky with its annual spectacular Independence Day fireworks show at dusk. Great viewing spots include the Entriken Bridge and Coffee Run overlooks. If you have a boat, watching from the water offers an unforgettable experience! Please be sure to follow all PA Fish and Boat Commission regulations, including proper navigational lights. For safety, parking on the side of the road or on the Route 994 bridge is not recommended.
