America250
In 2026, our nation will pause to observe a remarkable milestone: the 250th anniversary of American independence. From coast to coast, communities are preparing commemorations that honor the resilience, sacrifice and hope that shaped our country’s beginnings. Here in the Raystown Lake Region, visitors will discover unique opportunities to join that national story while celebrating the rich character and heritage of Pennsylvania’s frontier.

Huntingdon County Liberty Tree
America250PA, the Pennsylvania Freemasons, the Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau and others dedicated the Huntingdon County Liberty Tree on October 4, 2025. Visit the Liberty Tree at Riverside Park, Pennsylvania Ave, Huntingdon.
This tree is part of a statewide initiative to plant Liberty Tree in all 67 counties. This project is part of a multi-year celebration of our nation's 250th Anniversary. Liberty Trees were gathering places for the Sons of Liberty throughout all 13 colonies. From their meetings and discussions, the seeds of the American Revolution were planted.
