The board of directors and staff of the Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Patricia Swigart.

 

Pat’s lifetime of dedication to preserving a unique piece of American history and tirelessly promoting the Raystown Lake Region was truly extraordinary. For over three decades, as the President of the Swigart Museum, "America's Oldest Auto Museum," she had been a steadfast ambassador for our community.

 

Even in her late 80s, her energy and passion remain undimmed. Pat’s commitment to traveling the country, showcasing the museum at special shows and tours, has brought countless visitors to Huntingdon County, introducing them to our "Corner of Paradise." Her deep knowledge of automotive history and the captivating stories she shared during museum tours created lasting memories for all who visited.

 

The Swigart family's long-standing involvement with the Visitors Bureau, including Pat’s own service on the board of directors, underscores a deep-rooted commitment to the growth and success of our tourism industry. Pat’s dedication to connecting visitors with all that the Raystown Lake Region has to offer is a testament to her leadership and vision.

 

Patricia’s lifetime of work has not only preserved a significant historical attraction but has also enriched the lives of countless visitors and strengthened the fabric of our community. Her passion, dedication and unwavering commitment have made a lasting and indelible impact on the Raystown Lake Region. 

 

As we mourn her passing, we wish her friends and family well and thank Patricia Swigart for helping shape the tourism product in the Raystown Lake Region. She will truly be missed.
