"KTA hosts a 3-day hiking event in Huntingdon County, home of Pennsylvania’s Raystown Lake
Mechanicsburg, PA: The Keystone Trails Association, a statewide organization that provides, protects, preserves, and promotes hiking trails and opportunities in Pennsylvania, will hold its annual Spring Hiking Weekend from April 25 to 27, 2025, in Huntingdon County, PA, home of Pennsylvania’s Raystown Lake. Attendees will choose their adventures from regional hikes and outdoor programming on nearby trails.
“Spring Hiking Weekend is a celebration of trails - trails we hike, bike, hike, run, walk our dogs on, or seek out as spaces to reflect. Throughout the weekend, participants will embark on these kinds of trails. Plus, they'll have opportunities to see what goes into building trails, from permitting processes, use of livestock to carry supplies to remote locations, restoring landscapes, and basic primers on trail upkeep,” shares Kate Prisby, Events and Program Manager at Keystone Trails Association. “Whether you want to try a new activity or have fun volunteering outdoors, Spring Hiking Weekend has something for everyone.”
The event will feature speakers George Conrad, President of the Standing Stone Trail Club, and Celina Seftas, Raystown Field Station Director of Sustainability and former Conservation District Manager. A new KTA program, The Great Outdoors Reading Challenge, will debut on Saturday afternoon. It will feature a book discussion with Stuart Thompson, author of To My Daughter: Stuff I've Learned Playing Outside.

Lake Raystown Resort will be the base camp for this event. Keystone Trails Association has secured discounted rooms through March 10, 2025. Accommodations can be made directly with Lake Raystown Resort.
