Dig a little deeper into the Raystown Lake Region while you enjoy an unforgettable, on-the-farm experience. You'll want to carve out some time during your Ray-cation this year to participate in our Farm Tour Friday's promotion. 

Each Friday this summer from June 21-Aug. 16, some very special farms in the Raystown Lake Region will host a farm experience at their respective locations.

Six local farms are featured in our Farm Tour Fridays promotion this summer. Explore each farm tour description below and choose an experience that peaks your interest. The links to register for the farm tour of your choice can be accessed by clicking on the desired date! Don't delay; spots fill up quickly.

Hey Honey! Intro To Beekeeping

Discover the "sweet" life of bees in this fascinating introduction to beekeeping at Star Lee Farm. Explore the honey bee life cycle, dive into hive components and bee-keeping equipment, and study the art and science of bee product harvesting. Observe these busy insects at work in their natural setting, while discussing the important role of pollinators. Then take home an information packet and some local honey!

Brown alpaca at Terrace Mountain Alpacas
Up Close & Fleecy

The alpacas at Terrace Mountain Alpaca Farm are cute and uber-friendly. Each cuddly alpaca on the farm has a unique - and entertaining - personality. Enjoy a farm tour and felting demonstration, then create some alpaca bird nesting material. Explore the alpaca industry, get up close with some fleecy friends, and visit the farm store for alpaca products. This farm is certified "PA Preferred," "Home Grown By Heroes," and is accessible to visitors with disabilities.

Homemade lotion at Four Diamonds Ranch
Lotion & Potion Wizardry

Handcrafted bath and body products are a specialty at Four Diamonds Ranch. During your visit to this magical place, you'll meet goats and chickens and explore fields of sunflowers. You'll also learn about the process of creating and packaging home-grown goods, and you'll get the opportunity to make your own bath and body product(s) to take home with you! Don't forget to visit the new Farm Store for some locally sourced goodies.

'Herd' About Sheep Dogs? 

Explore the unique aspects of sheep farming and watch Woodcock Hollow Farm's lightning fast - and fascinating - working dogs herding their flock! You'll also get the chance to try your hand at handling sheep yourself. Bonus: Visit with the horses and goats that call this very special farm home, too. Explore and take home in-season vegetables from the raised garden, and perhaps get "berry" lucky enough to pick some fruit! Maple syrup lines will be collecting here, so don't miss that before heading out.

Stone Creek Farms

Lavender Field of Dreams

Immerse yourself in the delightful world of lavender. Stone Creek Farms is home to 13 varieties of lavender, each with unique characteristics and uses. As part of the farm tour, you'll learn about these different types and how they are used to create a range of products. Walk through the fragrant fields, taking in the sights and smells, and pick your own lavender to bring home. During the tour, enjoy refreshments with a lavender-infused twist. This family-friendly event encourages everyone to wear close-toed shoes for safety while exploring the farm.

Cheese at Clover Creek Farm
'Gouda' Time At Clover Creek

Enjoy a "cheesy" experience at Clover Creek Cheese Cellar and dairy farm. Step into the cheese plant to learn all about the cheese-making process. Explore the steps to creating 2-3 different kinds of cheeses, and make and take home some samples! This tour includes a tasting experience and light refreshments as well as information about the farm's dairy operation and Pennsylvania's Dairy Princess program.
